Overview

Backyard chickens need protection from raccoons, opossums, hawks, and neighborhood dogs. Comet Fence builds chicken runs and poultry fencing that keep your flock in and predators out. We fabricate in Pompano Beach and install across South Florida, from suburban backyards to small farms.

Benefits

  • Keeps predators out from above, below, and the sides
  • Sized to your flock and yard
  • Stronger than light-duty kits
  • Easy access for feeding and cleaning

Ideal for

  • — Backyard chicken keepers
  • — Small farms and homesteads
  • — Duck and goose enclosures
  • — Schools and community gardens

Chicken run and poultry fence options

  • Enclosed chicken runs with wire tops to stop hawks and climbing predators
  • Welded wire and small-opening mesh that keeps predators from reaching through
  • Buried or apron-style wire along the bottom to stop digging
  • Walk-in gates for easy feeding and cleaning
  • Larger poultry yards for ducks, geese, and free-range flocks

Built for Florida conditions

Heat, humidity, and summer storms are hard on light-duty hardware-store kits. We use sturdy framing and corrosion-resistant materials and plan the layout for shade and drainage.

Common questions

What fencing keeps predators away from chickens?
A strong small-opening wire on the sides, a covered top, and wire buried or angled out at the bottom. Together they stop climbing, digging, and aerial predators.
Do chicken runs need a roof?
In South Florida we recommend a covered top. Hawks and climbing animals like raccoons are common, and a top also adds shade.
Can I keep chickens in my city?
Rules vary by city and HOA. Check your local ordinance; we can build to the size and placement your city allows.
Do you build the coop itself?
We focus on the fencing, run, and gates around the coop. Ask at your estimate about your project's scope.
